Our Proven Process

The same five steps, every time.

We don't invent a new approach for every new client. Here's exactly how we onboard you, what your first 90 days look like, and what to expect every month after.

01

Discovery call

A free 30-minute conversation. We learn about your business — channels, structure, current bookkeeping, pain points — and you learn whether we're a fit. No hard sell, no surprises.

02

Past and present review

Before we plan anything forward, we look back. We review prior-year returns, your current chart of accounts, and how your books reconcile to your bank, payment processors, and marketplaces. Most onboardings surface at least one material issue here.

03

Kickoff and onboarding

You meet your dedicated Client Manager — one person who owns tax, accounting, and sales tax for you. We connect your systems (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, A2X, QuickBooks/Xero), agree on close dates, and set expectations for what lands in your inbox each month.

04

Monthly rhythm

Every month: books closed by an agreed date, a clean P&L and balance sheet in your inbox, sales tax filings on time, and proactive nudges when something needs your attention. No silence between April and the following April.

05

Tax planning and growth

Twice a year we sit down to plan: estimated taxes, structure changes, owner compensation, retirement contributions, R&D credits, and any growth-stage decisions on the horizon. Filing season becomes a confirmation step, not a scramble.

How we work

Three things that make this process actually work.

One Client Manager

You don't get bounced between a tax person, a bookkeeper, and a sales tax specialist. One person owns your account and pulls in the right specialist when needed.

Software-first

We use modern accounting infrastructure (A2X, QuickBooks Online, Xero, TaxJar, Numeral) so your data flows automatically and your books reflect reality, not a manual reconciliation backlog.

Proactive, not reactive

Every meaningful tax or accounting issue should reach you before it becomes a problem. If you're hearing about something for the first time from the IRS, we've already failed.
